President and Commander-in-Chief Rumen Radev will take part in the marking of the Day of Valour and the Bulgarian Armed Forces, May 6. He will attend a blessing of the colours at 9 a.m. in St Alexander Nevsky Square in Sofia, the head of State’s Press Secretariat said. Radev will welcome the guard of honour and lay a wreath at the Monument to the Unknown Soldier.

A military parade is scheduled for 10 a.m. in Prince Alexander I Square. The head of State will take the salute of representative military units and will deliver a speech to mark the occasion.

At 11:30 a.m. the Bulgarian head of State will host students from the guard detachments of the Krum Popov Secondary School in Levski, the Sergey Rumyantsev Vocational School of Agriculture in Lukovit, the Ivan Vazov Secondary School in Pomorie, the Nikola Pushkarov Vocational School of Agriculture in Popovo, as well as volunteers from the Youth Guard Detachments association. Radev will present the chairperson of the Catch the Rainbow Association, Denislava Angelova, with the President’s Badge of Honour in recognition of her efforts to promote patriotism among young people and support the development of civil society in Bulgaria.

At 12:30 p.m. the President will open the doors of the President’s Administration building to the public as part of Open Doors Day. Visitors will have the chance to tour the building and learn about the activities of the institution. The Coat of Arms Hall, the head of State's office and the multifunctional library will be open to the public. Visitors will also be able to see a replica of the Madara Horseman, on display in the building courtesy of the National Archaeological Institute with Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, as well as orders and medals the President awards, gifts the head of State has received, and iconic paintings from the collection of the National Gallery. The Open Doors Day will conclude at 4 p.m.
