National Assembly Chair Nataliya Kiselova commented to BTA on Sunday on President Rumen Radev's statement that “the rush to join the eurozone has emptied the country’s coffers and now the cabinet is looking for money and selling off the country” and that amendments to the State Property Act were pushed through on the eve of the holidays.
Kiselova called Radev’s statement political and was adamant that nothing has been sold off,as it is a matter of public discussion.
Earlier on Sunday, the Council of Ministers said that in a sent to Kiselova proposed that the National Assembly approve a programme for the exercise of rights over state-owned property and property owned by state-owned public enterprises. The proposal for the programme aims to achieve political consensus on the effective exercise of property rights.
Kiselova said that since the Government has already announced that it will submit a draft proposal to include the properties to be put up for sale in a list approved by the National Assembly, the President's comment is political.
