National Assembly Chair Nataliya Kiselova will attend Friday the commemoration of the 1160th anniversary of the Christianization of the Bulgarian people and the 1170th anniversary of the creation of the Bulgarian alphabet in Pliska, Parliament's press office said on Thursday. The celebration of the two anniversaries will be organized by the Varna and Veliko Preslav Diocese in the period from May 1 to 3.

Kiselova will attend the solemn prayer service in the Great Basilica in Pliska. It will be officiated by Patriarch Daniil in communion with Metropolitans of the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church. The National Assembly Chair will also be a guest at the festive spiritual concert in the courtyard of the Basilica.

Earlier on Friday, Kiselova will take part in the national pilgrimage-meeting at the historic site of Oborishte, where 149 years ago the decision was taken to declare the April Uprising. She will lay a wreath on the monument after the solemn prayer-observance and deliver a speech.

On March 3, Kiselova will open in the village of Srednogorovo the first edition of the local folk festival.
