The National Assembly Wednesday voted on resolutions to redefine the size, composition and leadership of its standing committees. The standing committees had to be reconstituted due to the formation of the Velichie parliamentary group, whose 10 members were sworn in on March 19.

Velichie Floor Leader Ivelin Mihaylov has repeatedly told the media that the rights of the group's MPs are being obstructed because they are not members of the standing committees.

The Velichie party entered Parliament after a recalculation of the October 2024 election results. Before the review, it was just 21 votes short of the 4% electoral threshold.

According to the Rules of Organization, the 240-seat National Assembly has 25 standing committees.
