site.btaUPDATED President Confers Order of Madara Horseman, First Class on Ambassador of United Arab Emirates

President Rumen Radev presented the United Arab Emirates' Ambassador to Bulgaria, Sultan Rashid Sultan Alkaitoob Alnuaimi, with the Order of the Madara Horseman, First Class, the President's Press Secretariat reported on Monday. The state award is for merits in the development of bilateral relations between Bulgaria and the UAE.

"Bulgaria highly values the friendship with your country and people. We look ahead to the future to strengthen our fruitful relations," head of State Radev said in his address. He stressed that he was satisfied with the intensive development of relations between Bulgaria and the UAE and pointed out that the country is an important strategic partner in the Middle East region.

The President also thanked for the organization of his visit to the UAE last September, when relations between the two countries were elevated to the highest political level, their strategic nature was strengthened, a number of bilateral documents were signed and progress was made in a number of important areas such as energy, defence, transport, education, science, culture, tourism, as well as the development of innovation and high technology, the head of State noted. 

Radev also congratulated the Ambassador on the organization of COP28 in UAE, where, in his words, the hosting country showcased not only good organization but also leadership and responsibility. "Although your country is one of the richest in fossil fuels, you have shown exceptional responsibility in the development of green technologies, in the extraction of green energy," he pointed out.

He stressed that the two countries are now partners in a "very important declaration" - the declaration on tripling nuclear capacity by 2050.

"Our two friendly nations continue to develop a very special relationship at all levels based on joint cooperation, understanding and respect," Sultan Rashid Sultan Alkaitoob Alnuaimi stated. He pointed out that in his role as Ambassador he had the opportunity to work with all institutions in Bulgaria and said he appreciated the support at all levels.
