site.btaCabinet Approves Position on Withdrawal from International Investment Bank, International Bank for Economic Cooperation

The government Wednesday approved a position related to ending the Bulgarian membership of the International Investment Bank (IIB) and the International Bank for Economic Cooperation (IBEC).

In March 2022, the government adopted a decision by which Bulgaria joined the common position of the European Union member states to terminate their membership in the IIB and IBEC. According to the position, the member states shall take the necessary steps in accordance with their internal national procedures for their formal withdrawal from the two financial institutions.
