There has been no increased cyber activity against strategic objects, administrative websites, or denial-of-service attacks since the beginning of election day, the Ministry of Electronic Governance (MEG) said on Sunday.

The temporary cyber security situation centre at the ministry is monitoring the situation in real time. The centre is chaired by Electronic Governance Minister Georgi Sharkov, and includes representatives of the MEG, the Interior Ministry, the Defence Ministry, the State Agency for National Security, and the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime.

On election day, the centre is operating continuously from 08:00 until midnight.

In the event of suspected threats, coordinated response plans are drawn up and the national cyber security group is activated.

Around 99.5% of voting machines are functioning without issues on election day, while work is ongoing on the remaining ones and they are being returned to election mode in a timely manner, the ministry also said earlier.
