Caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gurov has appointed Murad Turk Deputy Transport and Communications Minister, the press centre of the ministry announced on Friday.

Murad Turk has experience in the management, control, and implementation of projects and programmes funded by the European Union. He has worked at the National Railway Infrastructure Company, where he was responsible for the coordination and monitoring of key infrastructure projects.

His professional career also includes work in companies in the railway sector involved in the implementation of large-scale projects for the modernization of railway infrastructure. Within the framework of these projects, Turk has held positions as a construction engineer and public procurement expert, focusing on coordination, technical implementation, and procurement procedures.

As a civil engineer, he has also participated in the construction of one of the most significant infrastructure projects in the capital in recent years, the third line of the Sofia Metro.

Turk holds a master's degree in civil engineering from the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy. He holds a master's degree in civil engineering from the Vienna University of Technology as part of a double degree program. He did a graduate internship at the Research Unit of Road Engineering at the Vienna University of Technology. He speaks English, German, and Turkish.
