Korman Ismailov has been nominated as caretaker Minister of Transport and Communications in the Gurov draft cabinet.

Ismailov was born on September 13, 1972, in Sofia, according to information published on the Bulgarian Parliament website. He served as a Member of Parliament in the 41st National Assembly (2009-2013) from the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF). During his term, he served on the parliamentary Committee on Budget and Finance. In April 2011, he left the MRF parliamentary group and continued as an independent MP.

Throughout his tenure, Ismailov held several parliamentary positions: Member of the Committee on Budget and Finance (July 29, 2009 –  May 11, 2011); Member of the Committee on European Affairs and Oversight of European Funds (July 29, 2009 –  May 11, 2011); Member of the Committee on Transport, Information Technology and Communications (November 9, 2011 – March 14, 2013); Member of the Permanent Delegation of the National Assembly to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (September 4, 2009 – May 11, 2011).

He also participated in parliamentary friendship groups with Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Iran (until September 28, 2012), Ireland, Jordan, Cuba, Slovenia, Turkiye (from November 22, 2011), Uruguay, the Netherlands, and Japan. He served as Deputy Chair of the Bulgaria-Lebanon Friendship Group (October 23, 2009 – March 14, 2013).

Outside of politics, Ismailov has experience in the banking sector and private business, as well as involvement in the political leadership of the MRF’s youth organization.
