site.btaParliament to Vote on No-Confidence Motion against Zhelyazkov Cabinet, Debate Draft Budgets of Public Social Insurance and National Health Insurance Fund
At 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Parliament will vote on the draft resolution of no confidence in the Council of Ministers headed by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov. The debate on the sixth no-confidence motion citing failure in economic policy took place on Wednesday. Under Parliament’s rules, the vote must be held no earlier than 24 hours after the end of the debate. The motion passes if more than half of all MPs vote in favour.
The no-confidence motion against the Zhelyazkov Cabinet was submitted on Friday, December 7, by Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria and backed by the Alliance for Rights and Freedoms (ARF) and the Morality, Unity, Honour (MECh) party.
The first item on Thursday’s agenda is the first reading of the draft Public Social Insurance budget. It is the first budget in euro, as are the draft budgets of the National Health Insurance Fund and the State.
