site.btaBilateral Political Consultations Held Between Bulgarian Foreign Minister, German Minister for European Affairs

Bulgarian Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev met with German Minister of State for European Affairs Gunther Krichbaum at the Foreign Ministry in Sofia on Tuesday, the Ministry's press centre reported.

According to the press release, the two ministers and their delegations discussed current topics on the European agenda, including the next EU Multiannual Financial Framework, the future of Europe, the EU enlargement process and the Union's strategic approach to the Black Sea region. The discussion was hosted by Deputy Minister Elena Shekerletova. 

The press release further adds that both sides confirmed their desire to maintain an active political dialogue and deepen cooperation and economic ties in key sectors such as defence, infrastructure, energy, innovation and high technology. It ends with the statement that Germany is an important strategic partner for Bulgaria, with both countries having long-standing relations of trust and friendship.
