Deputy Prime Minister Ivo Hristov said Friday that he expects the government’s governing programme to be ready within approximately a month and a half. Hristov explained that the strategic goals his team would work on are clearly defined in the election platform of Progressive Bulgaria and will also form the basis of the government programme, the preparation of which has been assigned to him.
He said that his portfolio as deputy prime minister is currently being structured. Hristov recalled that Prime Minister Rumen Radev had tasked him with coordinating the work of the ministers of education and science, culture, tourism, and youth and sports.
He added that he had also been assigned responsibility for coordinating the government’s interaction with several institutions, including the National Evaluation and Accreditation Agency, the National Agency for Vocational Education and Training, the State Commission on Information Security, the State Agency for Refugees, the State Archives Agency, and the State Agency for Bulgarians Abroad.
Commenting on his future work, Hristov said that human development is a key indicator showing the level of development within a society, including the extent to which people are educated and healthy, whether they can enjoy dignified old age, have long-term life prospects, and live in a well-developed environment.
According to him, this represents a strategic and long-term project and a commitment to left-wing policies.
