Darko Janevski, the newly appointed Director General of North Macedonia's Media Information Agency (MIA), wrote on Wednesday that the cooperation between BTA and MIA will continue. Janevski's statement comes after BTA Director General Kiril Valchev sent a letter of congratulations for Janevski's appointment.
Valchev's letter read: "I believe that your knowledge and experience will be of great benefit in meeting the extremely serious demands of the new position. I am confident that MIA and BTA will continue to develop their partnership in the same spirit in the years to come." Janevski wished BTA success in return.
MIA's supervisory board appointed Darko Janevski its new Director General and Administrative Board Chair during a meeting on Wednesday. He has a degree from the state university Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje and has worked as a journalist and editor in several media outlets.
On May 26, 2021, the Directors General of BTA and MIA, Kiril Valchev and Dragan Antonovski, signed an information exchange and professional cooperation agreement at the European Commission Representation office in Rome. The original cooperation agreement between the two agencies was signed in 1999.
