The fifth day of the 41st edition of the Apollonia Festival of Arts in Sozopol featured literary premieres, a theatre performance, film screening, and a concert by pop star Michaela Fileva as highlights of the cultural programme.

The day began with an event from the The Price of Success series, which spotlighted the new issue of BTA’s magazine LIK (Literature, Art and Culture).

The evening programme at the Art Gallery began with a presentation of Geography of Sleep, a new book by poet and essayist Vladimir Levchev. This was followed by a discussion between cultural analyst Assoc. Prof. Georgi Lozanov and Maria Konakchieva, centered on her memoir In Love with Life.

Later in the evening, Georgi Gospodinov, one of Bulgaria’s most acclaimed contemporary authors, met with readers for a conversation titled On the Tide of the Past, focusing on his four most recent books.

Meanwhile, at the Otets Paisiy Community Centre, the Plovdiv Drama Theatre staged the historical production Elizabeth, The Virgin Queen. Over at the Summer Cinema, audiences viewed Flesh, a film by director Dimitar Stoyanovich.

The day concluded with a concert by pop star Michaela Fileva at the Apollonia Amphitheatre, drawing a large and enthusiastic crowd.
