Kazakhstan considers Bulgaria a major and very important partner in Europe, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at the beginning of plenary talks between the delegations of his country and Bulgaria's. Bulgarian head of State Rumen Radev is on an official visit to Kazakhstan, which began with a meeting with President Tokayev earlier on Monday.
In the host's words, Kazakhstan is firmly committed to promoting a mutually beneficial partnership with Bulgaria. "We will do our utmost to further strengthen our cooperation and ties in various fields," he added.
Kazakhstan wishes to further diversify bilateral economic cooperation and promote joint investment projects in the fields of energy, environmental transition, agriculture, healthcare, and tourism. "We also look forward to establishing a Kazakhstan-Bulgaria Business Council in the near future as a next step to develop our business ties," Tokayev said.
Inter-parliamentary cooperation is another important dimension, he noted. In order to deepen this dialogue, he proposes a facilitation of the work of the two countries' parliamentary friendship groups and regular exchanges of parliamentary delegations. Kazakhstan and Bulgaria have established successful interaction within the UN and other multilateral fora in pursuit of common goals in the global arena, Tokayev further said.
