The budget of the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria (NAMRB) has increased by 13% for 2025 compared to 2024, Veliko Tarnovo Mayor and NAMRB Chair Daniel Panov said on Friday.
Panov presented details about the Association’s budget to the General Assembly of the National Association of Municipal Council Chairs (NAMCC).
"The budget negotiations have always been important, but this year they proceeded more smoothly. For the first time, we have a major investment program totalling BGN 2.7 billion, with BGN 600 million coming from our own revenues,” Panov said. He mentioned that more funds are anticipated for investments through the Recovery and Resilience Plan and European programs, set to begin in 2025.
Panov called on mayors and chairs of municipal councils to work in unison instead of dividing along party and association lines. “Stay united so that we can continue working for citizens,” Panov said.
