The Peach Thief opera by Blagovesta Konstantinova will have a world premiere at the Sofia Opera and Ballet on March 27, the Sofia Opera said. The performance is based on Emilian Stanev's story of the same name; the libretto is by Tsonka Velikova.

On the production team are Stefan Nedyalkov (conductor), Teodor Georgiev (staging), Lyuboslav Boyanov (artist), Blagovesta Konstantinova (musical preparation), Lyudmila Ilieva (choreography), Violeta Dimitrova (chorus master), Petar Belneev (co-repetiteur), and Svetlana Ananievska (co-repetiteur). Participating are Sofia Opera and Ballet's chamber orchestra and chorus.

Konstantinova wrote the opera in the winter and summer of 2009; she finished the orchestral score in 2011.
