The celebrations began with a 0water blessing ritual for health and prosperity of the Bulgarian people, officiated by Metropolitan Kipriyan of Stara Zagora and a ceremony of raising the national flag in front of the Kazanlak town hall. The celebrations continued in the Sevtopolis Square with the screening of the film "The Volunteers of Shipka" directed by Plamen Miryanov and ended with a tattoo.
