site.btaSofia City Prosecutor's Office Investigates Attempted Murder of Bulgarian Citizen Abroad

The Sofia City Prosecutor's Office is starting an investigation following media reports that a Bulgarian citizen was stabbed with a knife in Skopje, Republic of North Macedonia, on the evening of July 27 2023 before the football match between Levski and Shkupi.

A prosecutor's file has been opened on the case, assigned to a prosecutor on the principle of random selection.

The supervising prosecutor immediately initiated pre-trial proceedings for attempted deliberate homicide. Specific instructions were given to carry out actions to collect and verify evidence in the case.

In the course of the investigation, all circumstances relating to the offence will be established in accordance with the requirements for an objective, comprehensive and complete investigation.
