National Assembly Deputy Chair Glavchev Confers with Montenegrin Parliament President Pajovic
Sofia, June 30 (BTA) - National Assembly Deputy Chair Dimiter Glavchev conferred here on Thursday with the President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Darko Pajovic. The meeting was attended by the Chair of the Montenegro-Bulgaria Friendship Group, Tarzan Milosevic, and Bulgarian Ambassador to Montenegro Mladen Chervenyakov. The guests attended the ratification of Montenegro's NATO accession protocol, the Bulgarian Parliament reported.
"It is an exceptional privilege for us to meet in such an important moment," Glavchev said, adding that bilateral relations have historically been very good and serve as an example in the Balkans. He noted that Bulgaria strives to carry out a policy of friendship, especially towards brotherly and close peoples, such as Montenegro's.
Parliament's Deputy Chair described the European and Euro-Atlantic integration as exceptionally important priorities for both countries. "I am glad that you often turn to our experience and hope that Montenegro will become part of the EU family in the near future," he said.
Pajovic voiced gratitude for Bulgaria's support for his country's Euro-Atlantic integration. He stressed the stability and the consistency of Montenegro's policy towards Europe. According to him, bilateral ties have huge potential for development in the fields of tourism, economy and industry.
The Montenegrin Parliament President also conferred with the Chair of the Bulgarian Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee Dzhema Grozdanova.
