site.btaSofia University Rector: In Today's World, Media Need to Live up to Role They Play

Speaking at the opening of a forum titled Journalists and the Media in the Mirror of the Code of Ethics held at the Rectorate of Sofia University St Kliment Ohridski on Tuesday, the University’s Rector Georgi Valchev said that he hopes for a fruitful discussion, because “there are indeed many issues, in today’s world, media play an even greater role, let us hope they live up to that role”.

Participants in the discussion included Bulgarian News Agency Director General Kiril Valchev, Bulgarian National Television Director General Milena Milotinova, Bulgarian National Radio Director General Milen Mitev and the current Chair of the Council for Electronic Media, Gabriela Naplatanova. Faculty members, students, and journalists from various media organizations were also invited to attend. The forum is organized by the Union of Bulgarian Journalists in collaboration with Sofia University St Kliment Ohridski.
