Parliament is discussing at second reading amendments to the Act on Collecting Revenues and Incurring Expenditure in 2026 until the Adoption of the 2026 State Budget Act.
On Tuesday, the texts were approved by the temporary parliamentary Committee on Budget and Finance. The ruling majority abandoned its proposal to increase the debt ceiling by up to EUR 3.8 billion until the adoption of a regular budget for this year.
Among the proposals is that, until the adoption of the 2026 State Budget Act, the amount of the state subsidy per valid vote received under Article 26(1) of the Political Parties Act for 2026 should be EUR 4.09 from January 1 to April 18, and EUR 3 from April 30 to December 31.
Before the start of the debate, National Assembly Chair Mihaela Dotsova called a 30-minute recess. Before that, a minute of silence was held in memory of former GERB-UDF MP Luben Dilov Jr. who passed away on Tuesday.
