The Governing Council of the European Central Bank (ECB) met on Thursday for the second day of its regular meeting. Footage from the meeting of the ECB body, which is responsible for monetary policy decisions, was shared by ECB President Christine Lagarde on her Facebook page on Thursday.
In the Facebook post, Lagarde wrote: "Our Governing Council is meeting today in Frankfurt. Join us live for the press conference at 14:45 [Central European Time] where we explain the monetary policy decisions."
The ECB is expected to keep key interest rates in the eurozone unchanged, according to analysts' forecasts, amid weakening inflationary pressure in the eurozone. The decision will be announced later Thursday and will be historic for Bulgaria, as the country is officially participating in the ECB's decision-making process as a full member of the monetary union for the first time. Bulgaria is represented by the Bulgarian National Bank Governor Dimitar Radev.
