site.btaPowerful Explosion at Traffic Police HQ in Romanian Town of Lugoj Injures Three

A powerful explosion occurred early Wednesday morning at the Traffic Police headquarters in the southwestern Romanian town of Lugoj, local media reported. 

Two people were injured and taken to hospital with burns to their faces and limbs. A third received medical care at the scene after suffering a panic attack. All of the victims are employees of the institution. 

The building was severely damaged, and an ambulance nearby was also destroyed. 

Emergency services teams, as well as nuclear, chemical and biological protection units, are on site. Rescue workers and competent authorities are conducting checks to determine the exact cause of the explosion and the circumstances of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
