Bulgaria's Albert Popov finished 11th in the slalom during a FIS Alpine Ski Men's World Cup event in Adelboden, Switzerland on Sunday. This is Popov’s second-best result of the season after his ninth place in Gurgl, Austria at the end of November.

On one of the most iconic courses in the alpine calendar, the Bulgarian delivered two very solid runs, clocking the 12th-best time in the first run and the 13th-best in the second. He finished with a combined time of 1 minute 52.41 seconds, leaving him 1.19 seconds behind the winner, Paco Rassat of France.

Norway’s Atle Lie McGrath and Henrik Kristoffersen placed second and third, respectively, trailing the winner by 0.18 seconds and 0.20 seconds.

In the FIS Alpine Ski Men's World Cup slalom standings, Paco Rassat moved into the lead with 340 points, ahead of his compatriot Clement Noel on 314 and Norway’s Timon Haugan on 285. Albert Popov sits 18th with 81 points, having added another 24 to his tally on Sunday.

In the overall World Cup standings, Switzerland’s Marco Odermatt leads with 955 points. Norwegian-Brazilian ski racer Lucas Pinheiro Braathen is second with 538, and Atle Lie McGrath of Norway is third with 478 points.

The next World Cup slalom is next Sunday in Wengen, also in Switzerland.
