Westinghouse Electric Company signed seven new memoranda of understanding during its third Supplier Symposium in Sofia in November 2025, the company said on Wednesday. With these agreements, the number of Bulgarian suppliers involved in the project to build two new AP1000 technology units at the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) has risen to 36, Westinghouse added.

The newly signed memoranda of understanding outline potential cooperation in the supply of a wide range of products and services, including valves, electrical equipment, pressure vessels and tanks, as well as auxiliary equipment. Among the Bulgarian companies that signed the agreements are ENEQ Consult Ltd., Honeywell, KZU – ZLMK, NEOPET, TANGRA–AV Ltd., and VAPTECH JSC.

"The active involvement of Bulgarian companies in the new nuclear power project is a clear sign of trust in the capacity, expertise and competitiveness of Bulgarian industry. For us, at Kozloduy NPP - New Builds, this is a strategic priority. We are purposefully working to increase the participation of local enterprises in the project," Kozloduy NPP New Builds Executive Director Petyo Ivanov said as quoted in the press release.
