National History Museum Opens Renovated Hall Dedicated to Thracian and Roman History

The National History Museum unveils its fully refurbished Hall No. 2 of its permanent exhibition, which is dedicated to the historical period spanning from the 5th century BC to the 3rd century CE. The exhibition's new highlights focus on Thracian power and Roman heritage in Bulgarian lands. "Expect to encounter masterpieces of ancient art and archaeology that tell the story of ancient civilizations," said the team behind the exhibition.

According to the museum’s press office, the renovation of the hall was carried out with the support of the Ministry of Culture as part of targeted funding for projects relating to movable cultural heritage, museums and art galleries in 2025. The new exhibition was prepared under the guidance of Prof. Ivan Hristov, PhD, with Prof. Diliana Boteva, PhD, acting as the scientific consultant. The renovation was carried out by Senior Assistant Prof.  Petranka Nedelcheva and her team from the Exhibition and International Activities Department. The exhibition's curators are archaeologists Mihaela Zaneva and Mihail Vaklinov.
