LIK Managing Editor: Cinema Connects Us with Partsalev's and Kaloyanchev's Talent

Yanitsa Hristova, Managing Editor of BTA's LIK magazine, said that through cinema, "we can always experience the talent of actors Georgi Partsalev and Georgi Kaloyanchev". She attended a presentation of the September issue of the magazine dedicated to the 100th anniversaries of iconic Bulgarian actors Georgi Partsalev (1925-1989) and Georgi Kaloyanchev (1925-2012).

The LIK issue, titled "The Kings of Laughter at 100", was presented in Varna on Saturday during the Golden Rose Bulgarian Feature Film Festival.

Hristova noted that in an interview for the current issue, director Zdravko Mitkov said the vast theatre audiences who adored Kaloyanchev and Partsalev are unfortunately shrinking by the year, and their remarkable theatrical talent may eventually be forgotten by contemporary audiences. Their film roles, however, endure, allowing Bulgarians to continue appreciating their talent and artistic vision.

Hristova recalled that films starring Partsalev and Kaloyanchev had featured at the Golden Rose Bulgarian Festival. At its second edition in 1962, Kaloyanchev won an award for his role in Specialist in Everything, followed by a Best Actor Award for The Inspector and the Night in 1964. In 1971, the festival closed with Three Reservists, starring Partsalev. The new issue of LIK covers these and many other highlights of the two actors' cinema and theatre careers, as well as their personal and professional achievements.
