The Izvor Cultural and Social Association in Antwerp, Belgium, has nominated Polina Dobrikova for the Saint Zlata of Meglen Award in 2025, the Executive Agency for Bulgarians Abroad (EABA) said.

“Polina Dobrikova has a Master’s degree in Pedagogy and is a long-time ambassador of Bulgarian traditions and culture abroad,” the EABA emphasized, adding that she actively works to preserve the Bulgarian spirit in Belgium.

Dobrikova established the Izvor Association in Antwerp in 2023, within which she developed a Bulgarian folk dance club with a group for children, the Bulgarian Orthodox mission “Saint Zlata of Meglen with regular services, and the Izvor Bulgarian Sunday School, which educates children and young people between the ages of 5 and 17.

In October, the EABA will present its annual Bulgarian Woman of the Year – Saint Zlata of Meglen Award. Twenty nominations have been received from 11 countries. BTA will present the nominees in a series of articles.
