Eleven people were injured in a Russian drone attack on Zaporizhzhia on Monday, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fyodorov, said on Telegram.
An air raid alert was issued in the Zaporizhzhia region at 9:27 a.m. and lasted until 10:47 a.m. local time. According to Fyodorov, Russian forces carried out six drone strikes on the city over the span of one hour and 20 minutes.
“Dormitories of an educational institution, multi-story residential buildings, private homes, and non-residential structures were damaged,” Fyodorov said. “A university building and several industrial facilities in the regional centre were also hit,” he added.
Emergency services and municipal workers are currently working to deal with the aftermath of the attack and repair the damage.
The Zaporizhzhia region is home to some 30,000 Bulgarians. The Bulgarian community is concentrated in the districts of Primorsky, Melitopolsky, Berdyansk, and Priazovsky, which are currently Russian-occupied.
