Margarita Lisita of Taraclia has won a bronze medal at the U15 European Women’s Wrestling Championships, held in Caorle, Italy, under the auspices of United World Wrestling (UWW), the Women's Freestyle Wrestling Team of Moldova said.
Competing in the up to 58 kg category, Lisita claimed the bronze after a 12-0 victory over Finland’s Anna Aino Hietaniemi in the small final. On her way to the medal, she also defeated opponents from Greece, France, and Hungary. The participation of Moldovan athletes in the U15 and U20 European Championships was made possible with financial support from the Ministry of Education and Science.
According to UWW, this is Lisita’s first medal at a major international women’s freestyle wrestling competition.
A four-time Moldovan national champion, Lisita has competed in various international tournaments. As reported by tuk.md, she won gold in 2025 in both the U15 and U17 categories in the up to 57 kg weight class.
