The Bulgarian Rose choir from Munich, Germany, will perform at the 11th Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance travelling folklore festival, scheduled to be held between May 15 and 17 at BMW Park in Munich.
Choir members said they plan to present something more modern and different in the 2026 edition of the event. One of the songs will feature piano accompaniment by Mariya Karastoyanova. They voiced hope that the performance will come together successfully, saying that rehearsals are currently held remotely. The choir’s conductor, Dafinka Stoyanova, lives in Bulgaria, and the group rehearses with her online once a week.
The choir includes singers aged between 26 and 71, described as “voices with different timbres, blended through the years spent together”.
The ensemble also includes a German member, Brigitte, who is among its founders. The performers emphasized that all members are amateurs without professional musical backgrounds, many of whom balance participation with full-time jobs. They added that the choir and Bulgarian folklore help unite them and mentally transport them back to Bulgaria during rehearsals and performances.
The Bulgarian Rose choir was founded in 2015 by Dafinka Stoyanova and her husband, bagpiper Stoyan Stoyanov.
