“When commemorating the 150th anniversary of the April Uprising, there is no need for pathos and no need for prepared speeches, because there are events and dates in Bulgarian history that have become so deeply engraved in our memory that the passage of time can never erase them,” said Bulgarian President Iliana Yotova in her address in the town of Apriltsi on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the April Uprising.

Batoshevo, Novo Selo, and Kravenik accomplished a feat that gave rise to the Bulgarian people's aspiration for freedom, a spirit that no one can ever break, the President said.

“The storms of time cannot move it even by an inch, instead, they transform it into an eternal symbol of patriotism and heroism,” Iotova added.
