Bulgarian Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev has extended congratulations to the people of Ukraine on the occasion of their Independence Day. 

"On behalf of the people of Bulgaria, I congratulate our friends from Ukraine as commemorating the 34th Independence Day!," reads Georgiev's post on X. 

Earlier in the day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed his fellow citizens from Kyiv’s Independence Square, highlighting the significance of the site’s symbols as embodiments of the nation’s hard-won sovereignty. “Every symbol of this place speaks of our country’s independence,” Zelenskyy said in his message.
