The Bulgarian nationals who have requested to be removed from Iran have been assisted, the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. At the moment, a limited number of applications have been received from Bulgarian citizens for evacuation from the territory of Israel, the statement added.

The Foreign Ministry said that it remains in constant contact with the Bulgarian diplomatic missions in the region and is following with caution and concern the dynamically developing situation in the Middle East region.

At 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, a group of 148 people evacuated from Israel, 89 of them Bulgarians, arrived at Vasil Levski Airport in Sofia

Three of the Bulgarians who returned on the Wednesday flight managed to leave Israel for Egypt with the help of a convoy organized by the Greek Consulate General in Jerusalem, the Foreign Ministry said. The transport was carried out in strict compliance with all security measures, and upon arrival of the evacuees on Bulgarian territory, they were provided with additional support and assistance, the Ministry added. The Ministry expressed its gratitude to all the institutions that have provided and continue to provide assistance, as well as to the teams of the Bulgarian diplomatic missions on the ground, for the professionalism and commitment shown.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs once again urges all Bulgarian citizens who are in the affected areas to make and maintain contact with the Bulgarian embassies, to follow official announcements regularly and to register in the system for voluntary registration of travellers abroad on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
