President Radev Will Meet with Kazakhstan Counterpart Tokayev in Astana

Head of State Rumen Radev will meet on Monday with Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev Tokayev at the Akorda Palace in Astana. Radev is on an official visit to the country, and on Tuesday he will pay an official visit to Uzbekistan.

In Kazakhstan, the two sides will discuss opportunities for advancing bilateral cooperation in various areas of mutual interest. The focus of the talks will also be on promoting trade and economic ties with Kazakhstan, which is EU's main partner in Central Asia.

President Radev will be welcomed on Monday by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in a formal ceremony at the Akorda Palace. The two will hold a one-on-one meeting, after which plenary talks will be held between the official delegations of the two countries. The two presidents will make a joint statement to the media. A memorandum of understanding on the development of the Trans-Caspian international transport route, a memorandum of cooperation between the Diplomatic Institutes of the two countries, as well as between the cities of Sofia and Astana and between Plovdiv and Shymkent will be signed in their presence.

The two presidents will participate in the Kazakhstan-Bulgaria Business Forum, organized by the Kazakh Invest national company. In Astana, President Radev will also meet with Prime Minister Oljas Bektenov and visit the Astana International Financial Centre. 

Presidents Rumen Radev and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev last met on September 24, 2019 in New York on the sidelines of the 74th regular session of the UN General Assembly.
