After his audience with Pope Leo XIV on Friday, Minister of Culture Marian Bachev told reporters that the experience was exceptional and hard to put into words. Bachev described the Pope as an extremely kind person.

The Minister said: "We had these magical four and a half minutes that were extremely impactful. The power of the kindness emanating from this man is really impressive,"

The official delegation led by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov to Rome and the Vatican includes Bachev, Deputy Minister of Education and Science Tanya Mihaylova, Metropolitan Anthony, and the Reverend Petko Valov, Bishop of the Eparchy of St John XXIII for the Catholics of the Byzantine rite in Bulgaria.
