One person was killed and 15 were injured, including a child, in a missile strike on the Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv early Saturday morning, regional governor Vitalii Kim said on Telegram.

According to Kim, a ballistic missile launched by Russian forces around 7:20 a.m. damaged several cars and a petrol station in the city.

According to Ukraine’s 2001 census, the Bulgarian community in Mykolaiv Region numbers about 5,600 people, with nearly 5,000 residing in the city’s Ternivka district, founded by Bulgarian settlers in 1802.
