Rahim Rashaida is the U20 and U23 Men's Epee European Cup winner for the 2024/2025 season. The graduate of the National Sport Academy’s Fencing Club with coach Dimitar Nikolov showed excellent results during the year. Rashaida will also receive a cash bonus of EUR 5,000, the Bulgarian Fencing Federation announced Wednesday.

Rashaida has been honoured by the European Fencing Confederation (EFC) for his achievements together with the most talented young fencers in Europe. The Bulgarian won the first place for the season in the Under 20 and Under 23 age groups after his excellent performance in the Fencing for Everyone (FFE) initiative, created by the EFC. He was third in Heidenheim (Germany), second in Sofia and sixth in Lausanne (Switzerland). His excellent performances at the Junior World Cup also contributed to him winning the U20 European Cup.

Rashaida got a gold medal at the World Junior Fencing Championships in Vrsac (Serbia). He came out sixth at the European Cadet and Junior Fencing Championships in Antalya (Turkiye) and eighth at the World Cadet and Junior Fencing Championships in Wuxi (China).

Later this week, July 26 -27, Rashaida will participate in the men category at the Fencing World Championships in Tbilisi, Georgia.
