Bulgaria's Formula 3 driver Nikola Tsolov won his second race this year with a lights-to-flag victory in the Austrian city of Spielberg on Sunday. The 18-year-old's victory means that he is just 1 point away from the current Drivers’ Championship leader, Brazil's Rafael Camara, who has 115 points.

Tsolov shared the podium with Norway's Martinius Stenshorne who earned silver and Germany's Tim Tramnitz who got the bronze.

Round 7 of the season will take place at Great Britain's Silverstone Circuit between July 4 and 6.

Bulgarian Parliament speaker Nataliya Kiselova congratulated Tsolov on his success. “You have proven that it takes a lot of work both on and off the track, confidence and perseverance to climb to the top of the podium,” Kiselova said in a message. She commended the 18-year-old for his ambition, concentration and self-control, which, according to her, are characteristic of a real champion.

The Parliament leader said Tsolov has enhanced his prestige as one of the most promising young racing drivers in the world. “I hope this victory motivates you to succeed in the remaining competitions of the season,” she said. “I wish you an outstanding sport career which gives you satisfaction, and I hope you bring even more joy to all your fans in Bulgaria, giving us many more reasons to be proud.”
