site.btaBulgaria’s Nikola Tsolov Takes Pole Position for Formula 3 Austrian Grand Prix

Bulgaria's racing driver Nikola Tsolov continued his dominant form at the Red Bull Ring by clocking the fastest lap in the qualifying session for the Formula 3 Austrian Grand Prix. Earlier on Friday, the Bulgarian Campos Racing driver also topped the timesheets in practice. 

Tsolov set the pace throughout the session in Spielberg, initially posting a 1:21.282 lap early on. After a switch to soft compound tyres 11 minutes before the end, several drivers improved their times, with Rafael Camara briefly taking the lead with a 1:21.011. However, Tsolov quickly reclaimed the top spot with a 1:20.927 with just two and a half minutes remaining.

He went even faster on his final flying lap before the checkered flag, stopping the clock at 1:20.743 to secure pole position. Meanwhile, Camara, Tsolov’s main title rival, slipped down the order to seventh as several drivers bettered his time.

US driver Brad Benavides of AIX Racing finished second, 0.176 seconds off the pace, while Danish driver Noah Stromsted of Trident took third.
