site.btaGrigor Dimitrov Advances to No. 12 in ATP Rankings

Bulgaria's best tennis player Grigor Dimitrov moved up by one position in the world rankings on Monday and is currently No. 12. The former No. 3 passed US player Taylor Fritz, who failed to defend his points from the last year's Indian Wells Masters.

Dimitrov is 360 points away from a return to world's top 10 for the first time since November 2018. 

He will take part in the Miami Masters this week. The Bulgarian is the 11th seed at the tournament and will start directly from the second round. In 2023, he lost to Italian Jannik Sinner in the third round. 

Bulgaria's highest ranked female player Viktoriya Tomova also advanced in the rankings. She progressed from No. 75 to No. 73 in the world. In Miami, Tomova will start against a qualifier or a lucky loser.
