The Bulgarian U18 women’s tennis team defended its title at the European Team Cup in Granville, France, winning 2-0 against Slovakia in the final on Wednesday.

Rositsa Dencheva gave the Bulgarians the lead after a 6-3 6-3 win over Nina Vargova, before Iva Ivanova secured the title with a 7-5 6-3 triumph over No.3 in the world junior girls ranking Renata Jamrichova.

Aleksandra Gabrovska was also member of the Bulgarian team.

On the road to the final, the Bulgarians completed a 2-1 win against Italy and a 3-0 win against France.

This is the second year in a row in which Bulgaria wins the competition. In 2022, the roster consisted of Denislava Glushkova, Mihaela Tsoneva and Daria Velikova.
