site.btaResource of BGN 2.5 Bln under New Programme to Improve Energy Efficiency of Residential Buildings - Deputy PM Zafirov

A resource of BGN 2.5 billion will be absorbed through the implementation of a new National Programme for Energy Efficiency of Multi-family Residential Buildings, Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Zafirov said during Friday's Question Time in Parliament. He was replying to a question by Krasimir Terziev MP of GERB-UDF.

The documentation on the establishment of this programme is under development. He underscored that the financial resource is allocated by years and covers the period until 2029. The mechanism of implementation of this programme will keep the look of the previous national programme, and the model will be the same - through the participation of municipal administrations and the Bulgarian Development Bank, explained Zafirov. 

The application will be carried out by the owners' associations established under the Condominium Management Act  through an information system, which will facilitate the process. 

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed the hope that the programme would lead to the improvement of living conditions for many families.
