Commission for Consumer Protection (CCP) is taking action on Lukoil's fuel prices and will conduct an in-depth inspection in order to establish whether the economic interests of people have been harmed in the retail trade in fuels, said the CCP on Tuesday.
After communication with the Commission for the Protection of Competition (CPC) in connection with the determination of fuel prices by Lukoil Neftochim Burgas AD and Lukoil Bulgaria EOOD, reasonable assumptions arose about potential harm to all consumers, the announcement stated.
During the inspection, which will be carried out by the CCP, the collected data will be requested and analyzed. The efforts of the Consumer Protection Commission will be focused primarily on establishing whether there are violations of people's rights in determining the final price of fuels. These actions represent only part of the close interaction and constant coordination between the two institutions, with a view to preventing violations in the most effective way and ensuring a deterrent effect on the behavior of unscrupulous traders, the Consumer Protection Commission said.
