Deputy Minister of Tourism Irena Georgieva assured participants at a BTA tourism forum that the Ministry will continue to work with businesses, local authorities, and the media to build sustainable tourism models and show that Bulgaria can be a clean, safe place that offers experiences that remain in the heart. She said this at BTA's BG Tourism - Summer 2025 forum, which began at the Grand Hotel Pomorie in the seaside town. The discussion was opened by the BTA Director General Kiril Valchev.

Georgieva recalled that on Saturday the summer tourist season was opened in Pomorie. She noted that work will also be done on mountain tourism. We plan to open the Summer 2025 season in the mountains - in Chepelare on June 27, and we are working hard to ensure that Bulgaria offers a variety of types of tourism throughout the year, Georgieva added.

She greeted the participants in the forum on her own behalf and on behalf of the Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borshosh. "This forum has established itself as an important platform for uniting the tourism industry, the media community, and all those who work for a successful summer season in our country. Your participation here today is proof that tourism is much more than just an economic sector. It is a cause. A cause for all of us who have dedicated our lives and work to it. A cause for regional development, for supporting small businesses, for creating jobs, and for establishing Bulgaria as an attractive and welcoming destination," Georgieva told the forum participants.

She pointed out that summer is usually the time when Bulgaria's riches are most evident—from the sea to the mountains, from cultural events to traditional crafts and local cuisine. However, she added that summer is also a time when quality and professionalism must be ensured in services, in welcoming guests, and in the way Bulgarian tourism is presented to the world.

This is the seventh edition of the BTA initiative to organize forums, which are held twice a year - at the beginning of the summer and winter tourist seasons - to discuss the messages  for the presentation of tourism in Bulgaria during the upcoming season with representatives of state and municipal institutions, the tourism business, non-governmental organizations, scientists, and experts.
