The Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB) is presenting specialized programmes and financial instruments to support the agricultural sector during the 13th National Sheep Breeders' Gathering, BDB said on Friday.
"With its new strategy, BDB is an active driver for the sustainable development of strategic sectors for the Bulgarian economy. We are delighted to be able to partner with farmers," said BDB Supervisory Board Chair Delyana Ivanova at the opening of the forum. At BDB's stand, participants and visitors have the opportunity to learn about the preferential financial terms the bank offers to groups and organizations of farmers.
BDB, through the National Guarantee Fund, supports agricultural groups both with investment loans for the implementation of projects under the State Agriculture Fund and with working capital. The programme has received considerable interest - four farmer groups with a total of 180 members have been supported so far, the announcement said.
"This support is in line with BDB's mission to provide small and medium-sized businesses with sufficient and diverse financing options. Together, let's continue to build a strong and sustainable agricultural sector that Bulgaria can be proud of," Ivanova urged.
For 13 years now, the National Sheep Breeders' Gathering has brought together traditions, history and innovations in agriculture. The organisers of the event are the National Sheep and Goat Breeders Association (NOKA) and the Heritage in the Future Foundation with the support of the BDB. The event is supported by the Ministry of Agriculture and local municipalities. Media partners include BTA, BNR, and Radio Veselina.
