One of the biggest problems the government has faced is the difficulty businesses have in finding labour, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Grozdan Karadjov during a National Discussion, titled "Access to the Labour Market of Workers from Third Countries: Challenges and Solutions", organized by the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Naonal Board of Tourism , which is taking place on Tuesday in Sofia. Karadjov added that  the government is currently focused on all possible measures to increase competitiveness in Bulgaria.

"I believe that over the last decade we have allowed a major deficit to be created, and this is the labour deficit," commented the Deputy Prime Minister. He noted that this is a "small disease of development", because the more developed a country becomes, the more difficult it is to find workers and employees, especially for more labour-intensive professions.

"Right now I can describe the situation as a huge scream and cry for help from the industry, the economy, to the government, that there is no labour force and Bulgaria is losing its already fragile advantage. This cry was heard," added Karadjov.
