site.bta2.9 Richter Earthquake Registered in Plovdiv Region


An earthquake with a magnitude of 2.9 was registered in the area of the town of Parvomay, Plovdiv Region, the National Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy and Geography at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences said on Tuesday.
The earthquake occurred at 11:54 am Bulgarian time. It had its epicentre 30 kilometres from Plovdiv and 160 kilometres from Sofia.
Parvomay Mayor Nikolay Mitkov told BTA that the quake was felt weakly in the area and did not cause any damage or incidents.
