German businesses, who are entering the Bulgarian market, are increasingly interested in training employees at their headquarters in Germany. This transpired during a meeting of caretaker Economy Minister Nikola Stoyanov with Jurgen Fridriech, CEO of Germany Trade&Invest, and Michael Blank, head of the Europe and Fairs department at the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy, the Bulgarian Economy Ministry said.

The German side underscored the high level of specialists who work in the IT and Communication sector

Bulgaria and Germany will advance their cooperation in the area of dual education and in the drafting of programmes for training through work, which will be applied in Bulgaria. “A top priority for the Bulgarian economy is overcoming the shortage of qualified labour and reducing youth unemployment,” said Stoyanov. He added that it makes sense for Bulgaria to borrow experience from countries which are leaders in the area.

In this respect a forum with business representatives and officials from Germany, Austria and Switzerland was at issue.

Stoyanov presented an initiative for increased presence of dual education at Bulgarian state-run companies.

Within the framework of the meeting, the Senior Experten Service, a leading volunteer organization in Germany, presented their activities before Minister Stoyanov and highlighted the possibilities for their experience to be applied in Bulgaria. SES is an organization, which brings together 12,000 experts from all professional fields and so far has implemented projects in 170 countries.

Participating in the meeting were Bulgarian Deputy Economy Minister Dimiter Danchev, Moritz Seiler, head of the economic section of the German Embassy in Bulgaria, and AHK Bulgarien Managing Director Mitko Vassilev.
